Ellipse (Deluxe Version)

POST EDIT: Now Includes all Instrumetal Links

Ellipse (2009) is Imogen Heap’s third solo studio album. Heap spun GoogleWorld and began her physical journey to attain inspiration for her third album. Following her trips, Heap returned to her childhood home in Essex, converting her playroom into her studio. Ellipse gets its name from the distinctive shape of her family home.

Initially, she was supposed to write a score for an upcoming Disney documentary. In late 2007, she dropped out of the project, stating that she wanted to focus on her third album. She planned to release by 2008. The album was written over the course of three years (with many updates for her fans through vlogs, twitter and 12seconds.tv).

In June 2009, she had finished the album completely. Press promos were sent for reviews and one was found to be on eBay. (Heap found out via twitter, thanks to a follower of hers). Using twitter, she asked her followers to bid on eBay ridiculous amounts of money to notify eBay. The album was bid up to £10 million to stop the auction. “I just bid £10m (felt good momentarily) then was immediately outbid by Bidder 8,” said Heap. “That is the maximum!”

After the eBay situation was sorted out, Heap began having “heaptweetup” or “cafeheap” to have a personal listen of her newest album with her fans. Her third album got many positive responses, and was recently nominated for two Grammys: Best Pop Instrumental Performance (The Fire) and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical (Ellipse). Heap won a Grammy for Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical.
